Update 7/8/23: Case It v705 is a Windows application that now runs on any Mac OS via included free software, with no time limit on use. *Read the important information directly below before using the Windows or Mac download links on this page.
*After downloading and starting Case It v705: If an error message appears that a file is missing, or if a folder appears to be empty when you attempt to open files (DNA, protein, enzyme, etc), follow these steps to fix the issue: Quit the program, move the entire Case it folder to the desktop, and restart the program (Case It v705.exe). If the Case It folder is already on the desktop, create a new folder on the desktop and move the Case It folder inside it, then restart the program. Also, please read this important information if you are planning on the included MEGA bioinformatics software with Case It.
DO NOT MOVE THE EXECUTABLE FILE (CASE IT 7.0.5.EXE) OUT OF THE CASE IT FOLDER – there are files inside that folder that the executable must access for it to run properly.
A mobile version of Case It also available is that works on tablets and smartphones, for selected case scenarios listed here. This version does not run the actual simulation, but rather shows screen-capture videos of the simulation in action as it generates results of case analysis. To run the actual simulation (Case It v705), use one of the download links below. Case It v705 is necessary to run the CRISPR and mRNA exercises, or any cases that have not been converted to the mobile format.

CHROME OS: Case It v705 does not currently run on Chromebooks, but you can use Case It Mobile on Chrome to view videos of selected case scenario procedures and analyze results. Selected mobile cases have extensions that make use of NCBI online tools.
